Phase 2- Week 1

For the second phase teaching practice I selected Govt. VHSS Kottukal

18/6/24:

Reflecting on my first day at the school as a teacher trainee, I feel a mix of accomplishment and insight into my teaching journey. In the morning, I visited 9A and provided them with notes, observing how different students engaged with the material. By the 4th period, I moved to 8B and repeated the process, noticing subtle differences in the class dynamics and learning styles. The highlight of my day was returning to 9A during the 6th period to introduce a new chapter. This experience allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting, and I learned the importance of adaptability and responsiveness to students' needs. It was a fulfilling day that reinforced my passion for teaching and highlighted areas for growth and development in my instructional techniques.

19/6/24 :

Arriving at 9:15 am, I participated in a half-hour assembly for Reading Day, which highlighted the importance of fostering a love for reading in students. During the 4th period, I introduced a new chapter to 8B, focusing on clear explanations and student engagement. At lunchtime, I helped distribute meals to the students, gaining a sense of the community aspect of teaching. In the 6th period, I started a new chapter with 9B, further refining my instructional techniques for different learning levels. Signed the register at 3:30 pm.

20/6/24:

Arriving at 9:15 am, I was eager to engage with the students and further develop my teaching skills. During the 2nd period, I taught the remaining portion of the lesson to class 8B, which went smoothly and allowed me to gauge the students' understanding more effectively. The 4th period with class 9B was equally productive, as I completed the balance portion of their syllabus. Additionally, I assisted in distributing lunch to the students, which gave me an opportunity to interact with them outside the classroom setting. Signed the register at 3:30 pm.

21/6/24 :

Arriving at 9:15 am, I felt prepared and eager to continue my lessons. During the 4th period, I completed the remaining portion of the lesson with class 9B, and later in the 6th period, I did the same with class 8B. During lunch hour, I was on discipline duty, which taught me valuable lessons in maintaining order and ensuring a safe environment for the students. Helping to distribute lunch allowed me to engage with students in a different context, which was both enjoyable and insightful. After signing the register at 3:30 pm, went home.

22/6/24 :

Arriving at 9:15 am, I was prepared for a busy schedule. In the 2nd period, I taught the remaining portion of the lesson to class 9A, followed by completing the balance portion with class 9B in the 3rd period. During the 6th period, I taught class 8B, which challenged me to adjust my teaching approach to different age groups and learning needs. Performing discipline duty during the lunch hour was a valuable experience in maintaining a structured environment. Helping to distribute lunch allowed me to build rapport with the students outside the classroom setting. Signing the register at 3:00 pm, and went home.
